Organizing shortcuts in the Start menu is not as easy as organizing them in Windows Explorer. The menu may close when you least expect it and you will have to navigate through its contents all over again. With Links Organizer, you can manage your existing shortcuts and web links, verify them and create new ones without any effort. You can move or copy desktop shortcuts to the Start menu or vice-versa instantly, schedule regular inspections and more.

Links Organizer is not free, but a fully functional trial version is available, which can be used for a limited period of time. The software comes in a small package and it can be installed in a few moments. It doesn't have any special requirements and you don't have to sacrifice too much disk space or RAM to run it.

The software displays your shortcuts and web links on an explorer-like user interface. You can access various categories, like Start menu items, desktop shortcuts, browser bookmarks and so on in a tree structure and view the shortcuts and links themselves in the larger area on the right. They are gathered automatically when you create them in Windows Explorer or on your web browser and you may click a Refresh option if they don't show up on the interface right away. Double clicking a shortcut will launch its corresponding application or folder. Web links can be viewed on the same user interface, with the software's built-in web browser.

Shortcuts and links can be added manually as well. You can define them on a separate window, on which you have to specify a name, select a path and insert a command line parameter if you need to. To add a web link, you have to type or paste a URL, instead of selecting a folder. Alternatively, you can just click and drag a link from your web browser to the software's interface.

Besides adding existing shortcuts and links to the application's database, you can also create new ones. For example, if you create a web link entry in a browser's folder, you will find a new bookmark in that browser's bookmark manager. Another central feature is the possibility of inspecting and fixing links. The software can identify and remove invalid links and it can also update links if their corresponding websites have been moved. Additionally, you can schedule Links Organizer to inspect your links automatically on a regular basis.

Pros

You can organize shortcuts from the Start menu, desktop and other locations and move them from one place to another on a single interface. The software can also verify and fix your web links on demand or according to a schedule.

Cons

There are no serious drawbacks to mention. With Links Organizer, it takes only a few clicks to move shortcuts and links from one place to another and to keep them working at all times.
